
Tennyson resident, Helen Ann Geary, passed away on April 6, 2026 at the age of 83. She was hard working and never knew a stranger. She will be missed by her family and pets. Nothing made her happier than genealogy research and holding a cat or dog close, especially her beloved dachshunds and pekinese.
Helen was born to Freeman and Edna (Krock) Ralph on May 13, 1942. She lived in Evansville then moved to Tennyson where she raised her family and had many animals.
Helen was preceded in death by daughter, Caryl Chase-Reynolds (Boonville), first husband, Rex Chase and second husband Theodore Avery.
Living descendants of Helen include children: Allen Chase (Watertown, South Dakota), Scott Chase and Sharon Hagenseiker (Boonville), Rex Chase, Jr. (Holland), John Avery (Tennyson), Bobby Avery-Kimball (Westfield), and Denise Floyd (Elberfeld). Grandchildren: Erica Reis, Brent and Matthew Chase; Carylone Burton, Heather Taylor, Hollie Durham, Jason Cundiff, and Laura Chase; Dustin Chase; April Chase, Ryan and Richard Kneir, and Sara Hess; Ashlee Chase and Shane and Andrew Phillips; John D. Avery and Jennifer Wood; Connor and Carson Seagrave and Cole Kimball; and Colin and Aidan Floyd; 32 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her husband, William Geary, and his children, Marion (Carrie), Alice Meredith and Alice Geary; his grandchildren: Holly Miskell, Dennis Geary, Michael Serviss and Darrell Geary; Mollie Brownie; Haley Geary and Laura Kirsch; Rachel Okes, Amelia Okes, and Charles Cutkomp; and his 17 great grandchildren.
Graveside service for immediate family and friends will be at Bethabara Church Cemetery on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2 p.m. Tim Long officiating.
