Tilford Lee Jones entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior surrounded by the love of his family on April 7, 2026.
A faithful, hardworking man, Tilford lived a life marked by devotion—to God, to his family, and to the work of his hands.
A skilled carpenter by trade, Tilford spent many years working for Buck Construction and 24 years working for Industrial Contractors. He took pride in honest labor and believed in doing every task with integrity. Much like the Carpenter he admired, he built not only with wood and tools, but with love, strength, and steady guidance for his family.
Tilford was a caring companion, a loving husband, and a devoted father and stepfather, but treated them all as his very own.
He shared 30 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nina Clark-Jones a testament to a life rooted in love, commitment, and faith. His greatest joy was his family and church family.
He leaves behind his wife, Nina Clark-Jones; five beloved children: Raymond (Amanda) Jones, Annah (Aaron) Miller, Lyvia Jones, Jenny (Tim) Powell, and Brittney (Eric) Beckerle. Adopted daughter Melody (Bradford) Berry. He also leaves behind a loving brother Russell Jones.
He was a proud and cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren: Haven Messel, Esther Jones, Jamal Blackwell, Tyler Beckerle, Alexis Beckerle, Braden Beckerle, Cade Cummings, and Chrissy Powell. His love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will continue to guide them.
Tilford found daily comfort and joy in his faithful doggie companions, Carmela Millie and Stormie Lee Jones.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Freda Faye Bitter, and his father James Jones.
While his family grieves, they do not grieve without hope, holding tightly to the promise of Scripture: “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23) and “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1).
We take comfort knowing Tilford now rests in eternal peace, reunited with loved ones and embraced by the arms of his Savior. His legacy of faith, love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to family will live on for generations.
Celebration of life will be held at Cornerstone Assembly of God, 3900 Kratzville Road, Evansville, IN on Saturday, April 18th visitation 10:30 to 11 am and service at 11 am.

I have known Tilford for over 20 years,I first met him at Sabic in Mt Vernon for work with ICI he was a fair and upstanding foreman there and explained things to me & what was expected of my working in a timely manner and to do the very best at all times. We didn’t always agree with each other but I believe that is what made us respect each other more over our lives. He will be truly missed but not forgotten 😢
