Gracie Elizabeth Buckley, age 30, of Mount Vernon, Indiana, departed this life on March 29, 2026, at Heart-to-Heart Hospice in Evansville, Indiana, after a long, but hard-fought battle with heart failure.
Gracie was born on July 2, 1995 in Sullivan, Indiana. Gracie chose to live each day trying to make this world a better place. Living by her golden rule of “If you have something nice to say, say it.’, she never failed to compliment others. She loved being social and made friends anywhere she went. She never hesitated to educate others about her LVAD. She loved music, crafts and spending time with her daughter, wife, and stepchildren. You could always find her video chatting with her most loved family and friends.
Gracie is preceded in death by her mother, Heather Janell Woeckener Borders, Billy “pepaw” Ezell, uncle Kevin Simmons, and stepson, Matthew Hangen.
Gracie is survived by her daughter serenity Janell Holloman; wife Emily Harris; step-children, Robin Hangen, Marion Hangen, Daniel Hangen, and Timothy Hangen; aunt, Tammy “Tam Tam” (Keith) Powell; sister, Haley “Hay Hay” (Curtis) Prinkey, sister, Avery Buckley; grandmother, Shirley Simmons Ezell; sister, Amber Borders; and many more family and friends.
Gracie has chosen private celebration to honor her life and requests that everyone who knew and loved her listen to their favorite song and feel joy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to an educational fund for her daughter. Contact her wife for more information.
