Paul Allen Young, known affectionately as “Big PaPa” and “P.Y” to many who knew him, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at 6:23 p.m. He was 76 years old.
Paul was born on December 17, 1949, at home in Campbelltown, Indiana. He spent many years working as a coal miner before later becoming a semi-truck driver, a job that suited his hardworking spirit and independence.
Paul enjoyed the simple things in life and the hobbies that brought him peace and excitement. He loved motorcycles and dirt bikes, shooting, fishing, and building model airplanes. Paul was always doing something and loved nature and being outside. Most of all, Paul loved wrestling. He was known for his strong personality, sense of humor, the love he had for his family, and very memorable stories he left behind.
He will be deeply missed by those who loved him. Paul is survived by his sister, Norma Young; his daughters, Suzette Humphrey and Kelli Lutterman (James Lutterman); his grandchildren, Colton Humphrey, and Kaleigh Long (Evan Long), Connor Purdue, Hunter Purdue, Loralee Purdue; and his great-grandchild, Jonathan Long.
He was preceded in death by his son Matthew Young.
Paul will be remembered for his hardworking life, his love for his family, and the many memories he created with those around him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassion and care during Paul’s final days.
