Judy Kirsch, 83, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones in Evansville, Indiana. She was the daughter of Ed and Rose Ruff, also of Evansville.
Judy was dedicated to her family and to the less fortunate. She was involved for decades in ministries for people experiencing poverty and homelessness. She worked to feed the hungry and serve the poor by connecting people and organizations, gleaning surplus produce, clothing, and supplies. She earned the Mother Teresa award from St. Anthony’s Parish.
Judy was a devoted and loyal wife to her husband Charlie for over 60 years, a loving grandmother to their eleven grandchildren, and a willing host for her husband’s large extended family. She attended Memorial High School and dedicated much of her life to raising her four children. She loved the holidays, particularly Christmas, and would try to have a Christmas tree in every room of her house. She was always up to hunting for a good deal, especially ones that would benefit others. She was passionate about animals, loved watching the birds and enjoyed the company of her pets. She was a good friend to many people throughout Evansville.
She is survived by her husband Charlie, her son Charlie (Michelle), daughters Ann (Don) Gregory and Jenny (Joe) Heithaus, and her son Scott (Elizabeth) and her grandchildren Joseph, Andrew, Hannah, Maggie, Abby, Seth, Paul, Ruth, Sarah, Morgan, and Taylor.
A Mass of Remembrance will take place at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on February 28th at 11 O’clock in the morning. Visitation from 10 to 11 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judy’s name to Holly’s House of Evansville, Saint Vincent de Paul of Evansville, Catholic Charities Diocese of Evansville or the Vanderburgh County Humane Society.

I will always remember Judy. She was such a dear friend during the years my family lived in Evansville, and I have thought about her often in the many years since we moved from there. Such fun we had supporting the Central High School band back in the ’80s. Her kind and caring nature set a wonderful example for her children and mine as well. I have missed her and send my sincere sympathy to her family.
