Francis Lee Ridge, 83, was born on October 13, 1942, in Vincennes, Indiana, and passed away on January 20, 2026.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Ridge and Marjorie Baecher Ridge. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn; his children, Brett (Jenny), Brian (Melissa), Deanna Hoffman (Jason), and Brandon (Jade); and his siblings, Sherri, Margianne, and Steve. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Alex, Shane, Madison, Mason, Aidan, Ashton, Amelie, Myles, and Katie Beshear, who brought him immense pride and joy. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Roman, Ian, Briar, and Alaina, each of whom added new joy to his later years.
If Francis were writing this himself, he would first say that he lived a life far richer than he ever imagined possible. Though he wasn’t known for traveling the world, his sense of wonder and imagination were boundless. He found joy and meaning in the small, everyday moments, even in times of chaos, and never stopped appreciating life’s quiet blessings.
To thousands, Francis was known as an expert on UFOs, but to his family he was simply a silly, loving husband, dad, and grandpa.
Francis will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his deep love of family and music, and the way his eyes were always drawn upward to the stars. Through shared stories and quiet moments, he passed along life lessons that will endure for generations. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, resilience, curiosity, and quiet strength that will continue through all who knew him.
A Celebration of life will be held on February 7th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lakeridge Crossing, 2144 Lakeridge Dr, Newburgh, Indiana. The family appreciates the thoughts, prayers, and cherished memories shared in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
