
James L. Adams, age 82 of Evansville, IN, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at
Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.
James was born January 19, 1943, in Jeffersonville, IN to James and Mary Ruth Adams. Known as Jim to most, he attended and graduated from Bosse high school.
Following high school, he went on to work at Economy Food Center and then he went on to become a Sprinkler Fitter and was in the Local 669 Union. He worked until 1999 when he retired early at the age of 56. He was known for his hard work. He had a no-nonsense attitude, never one to goof around and was always there to do the job right and in a timely manner.
He was a big Indiana State basketball fan and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sandra; his daughter Barbara and son-in-law John; his brother Robert and sister-in-law Sharon and his nephew Jason (Krista). He also leaves behind his beloved beagles, Bindi and Brody.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Lillian Kundert.
The family would like to thank Deaconess Gateway Hospital, Renal/Heart Unit, Heart Hospital ICU, Dr. Ruston Stoltz, Dr. Bhasin and Davita East. A big thank you to Kaci Jones for transporting him to and from dialysis.
