Robert F. “Bob” Bell
January 24, 1945 – November 8, 2025
Robert F. “Bob” Bell, 80, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
Born January 24, 1945, to Otis and Eileen Bell, Bob graduated from Bosse High School and went on to build a life defined by hard work, kindness, and community. He married the love of his life, Sherry (Swartz), in 1984, and together they shared 41 wonderful years. Bob was a proud father to Ryan (Sarah) of Maiden, North Carolina, and a devoted grandfather to Mason, Harvey, and Ruthie. He is also survived by his sister, Pat Branch of Indianapolis, his faithful dog Abby, and a loving extended family including in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Bob’s career included work as manager of the automotive department at Sears for 20 years and as owner of Bell’s Tech Tire Supply for 20 years. He later served as bar manager at Stavro’s Pizza Co & Sports Bar and, in retirement, worked with Deaconess Home Health. A lifelong car enthusiast, Bob was a member of the E’ville Iron Street Rod Club and was an integral part of Frog Follies, which has raised millions for the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Sweetwater Event Center in Evansville. Close friends and family will have a tribute to honor Bob’s memory at 2:30.
Bob’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the hospice team at Compassus, especially Leslie, Sheila, and Barb, for their compassionate care and support during his final months.
He will be remembered for his generosity, his love of cars, his devotion to family, and his humble humor—often quoting his favorite character Eeyore: “Thanks for noticing me.”
Memorial contributions can be made to Easter Seals 3700 Bellemeade Evansville In 47715.
