James Baughn

James Brian “JB” Baughn, 58, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on November 4, 2025, in his hometown.

Born on September 19, 1967, in Evansville, JB spent his life rooted in the community he loved. Known for his warm personality and unmistakable presence, he had a gift for connecting with people—he never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. His laughter was contagious, and his words often carried encouragement and positivity. Phrases like “Be blessed,” “Simply Believe,” and “It’s a beautiful day” were more than just sayings—they were reflections of how he chose to live each day.

JB had a deep love for Harley-Davidsons and eagles, symbols of freedom that mirrored his own spirited nature. Music was another passion that brought him joy and connection. He thrived in the company of others and found happiness simply being around people.

Above all else, JB was a devoted father and grandfather. He cherished his children and found immense pride in their lives. His grandchildren, A’lecia and Bobby Jones, held a special place in his heart. His love for family extended beyond immediate relatives; he was also close to many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly and were touched by his kindness and humor.

A man with a big heart and an even bigger spirit, JB leaves behind memories filled with laughter, love, and light-hearted wisdom. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. 

JB is survived by his children, Bear Baughn, Megan Durham(Baughn), Jackie Labhart; father, Jim Baughn; siblings Mark Baughn, Lana Lowery, Rick Baughn, Shannon Miller, Linda Knott, Berry Stone, and Tony Baughn;

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Jaques, and brother John Baughn.
