
Mary Gail Dean (Lindenschmidt) born September 15, 1955 in Evansville, Indiana passed away peacefully at Linda White Hospice House on September 19, 2025 due to complications of Parkinson’s disease.
Mary was a 1973 graduate of Reitz Memorial High School and went on to attend Lockyear College of Business, where she graduated in 1976.
Mary worked as a medical technician for over 40 years, starting her career at St. Mary’s Hospital and later retiring from Evansville Primary Care. Mary was known by her colleagues and patients for her work ethic, intelligence and quick wit.
Mary’s life was not only defined by her professional success but also by her vibrant personality and diverse interests. At one time Mary was an avid fitness enthusiast and completed several half marathons. Her other interests included Harley Davidson motorcycles and music, especially the blues.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents James and Francis Lindenschmidt. She is survived by her husband, Ronald “JR” Brown, daughter Whitney Autry, and her son John (Lauren) Matheis. Mary’s legacy continues through her grandchildren Jazmine, Ivy, and Isaac. She also leaves behind her sister Martha Yokel, her brother Joseph (Monica) Lindenschmidt, and a special niece Rebekah Yokel.
Mary’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr David Schultz and Stacey Ricketts NP. Memorial arrangements to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society or the Evansville Recovery Alliance.
