
Douglas Blackford, 68, of Chandler, Indiana, passed away on July 31, 2025, in his hometown.
Born on September 15, 1956, in Chandler, Indiana, Douglas spent his life traveling the country but always came back to the community where he was born. He was the son of Carl Edward Blackford and Anita Blackford. His father preceded him in death.
Douglas is lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara Blackford; his children: Douglas Blackford II (Jamie), Jaclyn Burkhalter (Patrick), and Cortney Weddle (Jonathan), Robert Cole and his grandchildren: Addy Blackford, Austin Blackford, Autumn Blackford, Brooke Scott, Logan Matlock, Dominic Weddle, Paige Weddle, Ava Weddle, Xander Cole & Gracin Cole. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Liam Weddle, Lucas Weddle and Grayson Scott.
He is survived by his mother, Anita Blackford; his sister, Cindy Blackford; and his brother Dwayne Blackford (Christine).
Douglas’s life was deeply intertwined with those who knew and loved him. His presence will be missed by many across generations of family.
A celebration of life will be held September 13th at noon at Community Central Church, 5015 North First Ave, Evansville, IN 47710.
